Currently, we are seeking a Quality Assurance & Maintenance Technician for communications systems. This role supports a Navy customer at NAS Patuxent River.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
The Quality Assurance Technician's main responsibility is to manage and address the FDN Technical and Operational issues required to supply our command IT Stakeholder with the proper environment to house IT equipment, ensuring safety and security measures and processes are being followed and documented.
Tasking may include the following:
Execute weekly spot-check inspections of each FDN (both PAX and Webster Outlying Field), validates for inconsistencies, alarms, breaches, and anomalies
Address any customer audible or visual changes found during FDN IT rack inspections
Inspect for any issues from a physical security perspective, ensuring gear is properly labeled, unknown or untracked items have not appeared, or items have been moved
Work with Facilities Manager to address any/all environmental components.
Ensure Preventative Maintenance (PM) is occurring, tracking and documented
Observe if interior and exterior of FDN to include perimeter security fencing is in good standing shape, locks are in working order, note any holes in fencing etc.
Catalog re-fueling cycles, test generators, and notate duration of each generator (up-time)
Coordinate Tech-Refresh plans for Facilities submission or Product Team Manager Action to procure
Facilitate all digital access controls, addressing alarm requirements to include audible, visual and digital alerts
Manages all access control-based testing cycles, to include real-time events
Ensure processes are in place for Escorts
Manage the non-digital access control components, physical keys, check-in and check-out process, working with DNA Front Desk staff
Coordinate Safety of Life 24/7 access
Address base security operational actions (FDN call backs)
Basic Requirements:
Develop and maintain all FDN related documentation and digital content forums
Develop and manage Tech-Refresh plans for all IT components; UPS, IT racks (secure & non-secure)
Evaluate building and floor space expansion requirements, staying ahead of FDN IT overcrowding and floor space saturation, overloading HVAC services due to increased heat generated by IT gear
Evaluate Electrical power requirements to support IT growth requiring; additional WIPS, Patch Panel expansion
Education Requirements:
Bachelors degree and 3+ years of applicable experience OR
Associates degree and 7+ years of applicable experience OR
High school diploma and 9+ years of applicable experience
Security Clearance: Minimum of an active Secret (must be a US Citizen)
Telework and Travel: This position provides support on-site. Anticipated travel is 0%
Contract: This position is supporting an active, funded contract.
